About the Club:

We are a growing and active club of about 64 members, both couples and singles. The Friendship Force – Haliburton Highlands began in 2007. We strive to have 2 outbound and 2 inbound exchanges annually hosting preferably in February, June or September. We are an enthusiastic club and we take every opportunity to make your Highlands experience a memorable one.

About our Exchanges:

Our June/September exchanges begin with a welcome party and usually include the following elements: boat trip on one of our lakes, tour of the local artisan studios, trip to the Wolf Centre and the Fish Hatchery, and a walk along one of our trails through the woods. Free days are often used to accommodate special interests of the Ambassadors. Any club wishing to visit Toronto or Niagara Falls should do so before or after the exchange.

Our Winter Exchange in February begins with a Welcome Party and usually includes the following features: lessons in cross-country skiing and snow shoeing; observing the art of ice fishing, dog sledding, tobogganing, and a sleigh ride.

About our region:

The Haliburton Highlands region of Ontario offers 4 seasons of outdoor splendour. With Algonquin Parkon the  northern border and Muskoka Ontario on the west, the Haliburton region is quickly being discovered by nature lovers, and for outdoor recreation.

Because of the natural beauty of this area, and abundance of lakes and rivers, there is a long history of summer cottagers and visitors. With the surge of interest in winter outdoor recreation and popularity of the magnificent Fall Colours the Haliburton Highlands has become a 4 season destination.

The County of Haliburton Highlands has two major villages; the Village of Haliburton and the Village of Minden. We have 600 fresh water lakes and plenty of trails for hiking/walking in the summer and skiing in the winter.

Mission Statement

The Haliburton Home and Cottage Show is a community-based show. Our mission is to connect show visitors with businesses and organizations that have relevant information, products, and services to offer for the greater good of the community.
